2008 STANDING & LOCAL RULES
LAKE OF THE WOODS WOMEN’S
GOLF ASSOCIATIONS
 
1. Wednesday will be reserved for Ladies Day.
2. A minimum of 5 scores are required to establish a handicap.
3. Club Championship Tournament - Two day stroke play on consecutive Wednesday’s. All rounds will be flighted according to the First Round. Flights will be balanced according to the number of participants. In the case of a tie, it will be broken by using the first round score, hole by hole, until the tie is broken, placing the winner in the upper flight. In the event of ties in the final round, there shall be a sudden death playoff of the 1st place winners in all flights.
4. Handicap Tournament - Match Play during designated days. First pairings are set according to handicap and USGA rules. Two brackets will be balanced and all byes should be in the first round. Each match should be completed before the designated ending dates. Matches may be played earlier if both participants agree. First through fourth places will be awarded.
5. Victory Tournament - The chairman shall appoint a member to plan and conduct the IWGA Victory Tournament and it will also be the game of the day.
6. Play will begin the last Wednesday of April.
7. A current member is one who has paid the yearly membership dues and posted scores on the handicap computer.
8. All effort will be used to eliminate reoccurrence of slow play.
9.You may rake and replace footprints in the sand traps, if so desired.
10. Ground Under Repair - If not circled and agreed upon by your foursome, you may drop no closer to the hole for relief.
11. Hole #9 - Old sand bunker on the left side is deemed ground under repair. You may take a free drop no closer to the hole.
12. #11 Hole, red stakes to the right are a free drop, no closer to the hole (naturalized area).
13. If conditions are muddy—First group may deem lift, clean and place rule for the rest of the groups by letting the Starter know to inform the others.
14. Water Hazards - Other than tournament play, if you put 2 balls in the water, you may then cross the water and drop, counting a stroke for the drop
15. USGA rules apply for June through August. May and September are winter rules - you may roll the ball in the fairway for a better lie.

     18-Hole - 7:30-9:00 a.m.
     **1st Wed. of each month - 8:00 Shotgun      
 9-Hole - 9:00 a.m.
